HERRIN HIGH SCHOOL This two-hour course continues the learning begun in Drafting/Computer-Aided-Drafting I and emphasizes the area of performing presentation techniques such as various graphs, producing architectural and engineering designing, drawing light commercial building plans. Interpreting codes, and constructing structural working drawings, producing mechanical and electrical working drawings, using and producing CAD drawings in mechanical and architectural projects. Students will work on projects in their area of interest/expertise as approved by the instructor. This course offers dual credit with John A. Logan College. The series of drafting classes offered at Herrin will enable the student to further their education, or seek employment in the fields of architecture, aerospace, graphic designer, urban designer, city planner, civil engineer, construction engineer, electrical engineer, industrial engineer, mechanical engineer, structural engineer, plus many technical fields which may only require 2 years of college. Glencoe Macmillan Publishing Co. 2004 Prerequisite for this class is Drafting IB. Any previously issued tools which are lost or broken may be purchased. Students must provide a folder to store drawings and quizzes. Folder will be collected and graded. Test/quizzes will be given (occasionally) in the form of questions and answers or by preparing a drawing. Unless exempt, each student will take a semester/final exam. --Semester coursework may change due to time constraints, student interests, or any reason deemed necessary by the administration or instructor. |
