Prerequisite: Manufacturing Technology 1b

This second level advanced course offers experience, which will expand upon skills achieved in Vocational Machine Technology 1. It offers students the opportunity to improve skills needed for entry-level jobs in manufacturing or to enter a school of higher learning. Course content includes machine set up and operation, foundry operations, heat treatment of metals, advanced machine set up and operation, introduction to numerical control machining, and machine repair and maintenance. Manufacturing Technology 2b                    Credits per Semester: 1      Grades: 12

Prerequisite: Manufacturing Technology 2a

The final semester of the Manufacturing Technology program sequence includes advance machine set up and operations on both the mill and lathe machines, out-of-position oxyacetylene welding and cutting ; basic shielded metal arc welding. Students will use programmable logic control and computer numerical control of machining equipment. Upon completion of this course, students may be eligible for dual credit through John A.
